This CD is a reissue of Reizen’s second CD but in new packaging so intricate and elaborate it’s a good five minutes between attempting to unstick the plastic sleeve and finding my way in to the disc inside, wedged between two bits of cardboard, with some sheets of different coloured cardboard containing the track titles tied on with string, and held in with a little acrylic stick. Fiddly. On the CD itself we’ve got three long tracks.

The first is a long, low, thrumming hypno-drone, the second is full of scrapey scrapey scrapes and the third is a soft high-pitched drone with the occasional bit of swelling mid, which eventually builds to an intense flat drone and then splinters into weird distant melodic dinks in a relaxing, slightly Deathprod-esque final passage which provides the most melodic moments on the CD.

It’s all very, very slow-moving, drifting along with a minimal singularity of purpose that leaves me with very little to write about. I particularly didn’t get on with the scrapey one but it’s intense, cerebral minimalism that you’ll either love or hate I guess. I’m struggling to find the patience for it in our busy office with lots going on around me but it might be a totally different story late at night in the comfort of your home.
