A lovely split 7” from Drag City. Nite Jewel has been around a while, polishing a brand of electronic pop that initially wasn’t too far removed from the hypnagogic thing that was trendy for awhile. This track is quite atypical in that its some lo-fi burbling synths overlaid by a guitar solo that could have come off Steely Dan’s ‘Gaucho’.The real gem on here is by Woo. It seems incredible that a band has been going nearly 30 years and I have never heard of them. Their track here is an utter delight, it sounds kind of like the beautiful little instrumentals Young Marble Giants used to offer between their more fully realised tracks. A twinkling, understated sweet little treat of a track, hints of Kraftwerk but much more organic and lo fidelity.
