The press release reckons Belle & Sebastian and Paul Simon but there’s a very very worrying influence at play here, I can barely utter the words I’m so disgusted by it all. Oh...here goes...The Magic Numbers. Aaaaaaaarggghhh. I bet you’d never hear those words again. I’m sorry. It really does sound like them. Both tracks are Scandinavian wimp central, saved only by a nice instrumental passages that recalls Kings of Convenience.

The A side is the much more upbeat of the two with guitars jangling all over the place. The male/female sung together vocals have a country-ish lilt that I find a little sickly. I do like the instrumental bits though, it’s all gently plucked, a little like Felt. I think, despite my reservations, lots of people are going to like this, it’s pleasant, harmless to animals, children, light as a feather strummy, twee indie...let’s hope they veer a bit closer to Kings of Convenience than to some other...more weighty bands I could mention.
