Ooh I like this chap. This is Seabuckthorn’s (aka Andy Cartwright) 2nd album for Bookmaker records. His last one was ace and there once was a time in my life when I didn’t stop playing the bloody thing. Being a fan of the old 12 string guitar and its ample charms I can’t wait to get my sticky mitts on some new exciting guitar soli!

Mr Cartwright creates an evocative and emotive mix of 12 string psychedelia with a hint of spaghetti western soundtrack in there. It’s making me want to sit out in the sun with a beer and chill out. Considering there’s very little else going on here except guitar it’s really quite a full sounding album. You’d be hard pushed not to mention the likes of Fahey, Basho, Blackshaw and Turnquist, Chasny when reviewing something like this (no need for first names...) Hazey feedback drifts over cyclical guitar loops concocting a unique cinematic atmosphere. I’m thoroughly enjoying it and it’s the best album of this kind of thing since Alexander Turnquist’s Hallway Of Mirrors a coupla years ago which I’m still obsessing about. enough of that though. This a mighty mighty album. Only 200 pressed.. compact disc only you nonces.
