Not content with being the Stevie Wonder of chillwave, Toro Y Moi fella (a.k.a. Chaz Bundick) has this side project where he can explore his love of more dance-based music. His last 12” under this moniker was great and guess what? So is this one!

Opening with some staccato belchy beats we get some fat farty bass sound and lovely warm ‘80s Hall & Oates keyboard trills. He adds snapshots of vocals before it breaks down to a slight Italian-house interlude. A lovely summery slab of gorgeous dance music for the tail end of summer. The flip is more broken, with jumpy rhythms and skittery cymbals. Apart from some squelchy trumpet samples there is less going on melodically, just the hint of those warm synths that float my boat each time.
