Chulahoma by The Black Keys

Chulahoma was a mini album by blues rock sensations the Black Keys on which they covered songs by late Fat Possum blues feller Junior Chulahoma who was a huge influence on their original vision. The duo obviously have a real feel for his music and were congratulated by his widow for the tribute. Now back out on vinyl for those who want to dig deeper into the keys back catalogue.

This is an exceptional album and a fantastic tribute to Junior Kimbrough, an obvious influence on The Black Keys' music. Dan and Patrick play these songs with such a great feeling for the blues, and for Junior's style, it is no surprise that his widow wanted to congratulate them on their efforts. There can be no finer endorsement than that! The Black Keys picked a great selection of songs for this album and have you hooked from the very first licks to come from Dan's guitar. From there on in it feels as if your ears and soul are being massaged by the sound. If you like Junior Kimbrough/ The Black Keys/ the blues in general, this an album you won't be disappointed with.
