I’ve heard this human before. Michael “The Green Kingdom” Cottone makes soothing droney soundscapes primarily from processed and manipulated acoustic guitar sounds, ornamented with various small acoustic instruments and samples to make a pulsing, unpredictable melodic drift of twinkles, drones and glitches which sparkles warmly away to itself over the course of nine graceful, slow-paced tracks, putting me in a sleepy drone hypnosis.
In places the graceful, delicate ambience gives way to more obviously musical interludes like the sentimental fingerpicking of ‘Cherry Theme’ which is making me relieved I don’t have a puny flesh heart that could be broken by it, but this collection largely sticks to concordant, warm but amelodic layering of stretched out guitar drones, clicky, crackly soft-glitch driftiness and measured, gentle twinkling textures over the top. Most relaxing.
