“Packed with ethereal and earthly blackness; a deep and dense wood, a coal-black night, tarry centers where you find the solitude of 100 year old weeping willows.”

Okay, fair enough, the press release is a little convoluted but you get the idea. To sum up: more drone. This time it’s a softer drone, a yacht-rock drone if you like. The kind of drone a mid life crisis Michael McDonald might produce. A synth drone, a Steely Dan drone (but imagine them playing one note for half an hour - ha!), it’s accompanied by bursts of random noise like a cloudburst.

The album sleeve lists several tracks but there looks to be just one big groove so they must roll into one another. It’s nice though, it feels like the best bits of the recent bvdub stuff, slower and completely beatless. There are the mutterings of elegiac guitars emerging out of the murk, finally on the flip some noise, it emerges out of nothing, stays a while and then is gone into the night. Features John Twells of Xela pottering about, limited, etc, etc.
