Warm stretched out astral guitar dronings on this very limited Cedric Stevens 7” here, performed and composed in 2010. It’s different to what I was expecting from Stevens, who is best known for his modular analogue loopy weirdness and his Acid Kirk alter-ego.

This is swirling, creaking, droney celestial ambience, with the guitar sounds smudged and stretched and layered for an immersive, ethereal wall of tone, and it’s quite lovely in a Windy & Carl-meets-Grouper kind of way but I always feel with this sort of ambience that you need more than seven inches to really get in the zone and properly absorb the soothing grumbling mass of congealed tones. There is a very pleasant droment captured on each side of this record though.
