My brother once had a girlfriend whose name was pronounced ‘misery’ and therefore pretty perfect match for his then mind frame. This is a nice old school R&B from the man who had a hit with ‘Money’ and in the process made quite a lot of the stuff for his then-label Motown. The A side here is a downbeat brooding stomp, the B side a tremendously lo-fi upbeat shaker that sounds like it was mastered off a 78rpm record that has been in the washing machine.
