This week Phil is making me review all of the experimental weirdos. I’ve been trying to spread them out and punctuate them with more melodic and pleasant stuff for the benefit of everyone else in the office but today I’ve run out of all that so it’s just harsh tones after harsh tones and everyone’s getting pissed off.

A minute ago this bonkers collaborative harsh drone orgy had Kim and Business Lady jamming their fingers in their ears as an almost-inaudibly high pitched screech got louder and louder and louder. Now there’s a squeaky clarinet and some cosmic low-mid drones with resonant throbs and electrical crackle. Yup, it’s the new record on Pan.

Basically what’s happening here is that these four quite different artists have teamed up for an explorative and quite confrontational LP of drone’n’scree insanity. Extended tones seemingly designed to cause discomfort rub sensuously against each other like a fat hippie couple at their own private Hawkwind concert. The majority of people will find this unlistenable but maybe you won’t.
