Well I’m fucked if anyone will ever get me to the gym, especially on a Saturday night. What’s wrong with getting pilled-up and shaking your stuff to banging techno in a grim cold leaky warehouse somewhere surrounded by gurning munters and spannered girls in hotpants and furry leggings? You don’t get that down t’ Virgin Experience, eh?
Who are these peeps then? The press states they’re an Anglo-Irish amalgam and they’re responsible for making an extended play twelve inch comprised of glistening euphoric pop and commercial laser-eyed post-dubstep tinged nightclub fodder. It sounds a little along the lines of Hot Chip, Maps at their chartiest and later M83, has lots of auto-tuned vocals, technicolour synths beaming down like strobes and an easy-going celebratory nature and is pretty catchy throughout. I wish more songs had Ellie Walker as I think her voice is quite cute.
