The knighted bishop is back with a new album on Stephen O Malley's curated Ideologic Organ label. I'm fascinated by the sleeve for this one. I think Mr Bishop looks amazing on it...he looks somewhere between a mad scientist, bad Santa, a wizard and a hippie. Genius!

Cover aside the album is a proper good Richard Bishop album! It's mainly just him and guitar but there's a couple of tracks with percussion on. The thing that's instantly noticeable about this when you crack it on is just how good a guitar player he is, which makes the album supremely listenable if you're into the whole solo guitar genre. Some of the tracks have a Middle Eastern feel to 'em, some are a little bluesy, others have more of a psychedelic raga style, heck one of 'em even sounds a bit like the music to Spongebob (I have an image of him bobbing his head up and down and smiling whilst playing that one)!

It's a lot more varied that say 'The Freak Of Araby' or 'Polytheistic Fragments' as here there's less of a theme than those albums. So it's a mixed bag of tunes showcasing one of the best classical guitarists kicking about at the mo and it's one I highly recommend!
