Aw shit yeah. This record is making me feel like such a badass. It's quite a crisp, clean bit of synthpop from a quartet of Texans calling themselves Survive. I don't know many Texan synth bands, I have to be honest. This is fucking good, though. On the A side we've got W115, which is a bouncy bit of techno-leaning synthpop with loads going on and a vocal line so processed it's just like a fuzzy metallic roar in the background. Top notch. It's like they're finding some kind of midpoint between the Pet Shop Boys and John Carpenter. A real head-nodder.

Flip it and there's more throbbing, ominous tones, smooth gliding synths, glacial drum machines and general aural indulgence. This time, though, about halfway through there's a bonkers bit of shameless soulful synthesiser soloing with searing, zigzagging, buzzing tones. It completely wails. Stonking solo aside, though this track's reminding me a bit of Inner Tube, which is to say it's a bonged up modern take on nostalgic '80s vibes and I really like it. Even better than the A side, turning a brilliant single into an essential one. Hope there's an album soon!
