Ah, this is too lovely and fragile a record to be reviewing in the office with the clacking of keyboards and the skkkkrking of tape guns and the roar of knives against corrugated cardboard to accompany it, but sadly that's what I must attempt right now.

What's happening here is a sparse, minimal affair of melodic, sad, soundtracky twinklings on pianos and guitars with shimmering strings to lift the textures subtly at choice moments. It falls somewhere between the neoclassical tinklings of Nils Frahm or Johann Johannsson and the soundtracky melodic ambience of the likes of Stars of the Lid, and there's worse places to fall than that really. A quiet, hesitant, intimate late night beauty.
