8/10 Brian Staff review, 10 May 2012
Electronic experimentalists, these guys, and on this particular plate they've excelled themselves. The first two tracks covering one side veer between odd grumbling ricocheting IDM breaks and moods leading into a vortex of hollow disembodied drone gales then it finishes with some fine vintage kosmische synth cycles. Overleaf is a piece of what they term as “ambient Americana”. I'm unsure of the inspiration for this but it makes for an intriguing listen and could well be inspired by Coil, Richard Youngs or Arthur Russell and the like with it's torch song lilt and discreet waves of keyboard, piano and black holes in space. This concludes with an excellent slice of moody DIY techno carrying beneath its propulsive flickering beat a brilliantly austere classical signature and much excitable panning and other madness.
