This mysterious five-piece make a lo-fi polyrhythmic racket using various instruments picked up on Kamal Rasool's travels. I'm assuming Kamal is one of the five. Business Lady says that someone in this band is behind the wacky Belly Kids label that it's on (check out their indie rock cookbook The Mona Pizza if you haven't already - great gift idea for hard-to-please indie nerds). Anyway, what we've got on this tape is 11 tracks of charming lo-fi polyrhythms and hypnotic chants. Bit of a Moondog feel in places, but with more of a hippie vibe, or maybe like if Orfanado put the emphasis on rhythms rather than guitar picking. There's some unexpected but welcome cosmic synth business right towards the end as well. Completely incongruous but it sounds great so who are we to grumble? Really cool, unusual tape. Would listen to again.
