Got a split here from girl quartet The Coathangers and raucous Puerto Rican rock'n'roll seven piece Davila 666. Both bands are offering up tracks which remind me of The Hives. Little chunks of lively power-pop'n'roll with simple structures, hi-gain guitars and obnoxiously catchy choruses. The Davila track's my favourite of the two, with a garagey exuberance that brings to mind King Khan & the Shrines and a super catchy tune paired with scratchy, trebly recording and a wonderfully thin and loud '70s-sounding lead guitar tone. Lively.
