- A Time For Drunken Horses by The White Meadows

The album title makes me think of that old joke "a horse walks into a bar..."* There is an interesting mix of recordings here all quite gently folking and ambiently droning. Peter Taylor plays violin and percussion with Maria Thompson's folk harp embellishing taped found sounds and field recordings.
There is such a variety of sounds here listening to them is a bit like going on a ear holiday to a museum. I hear the quintessential English accents of old nature documentary narrators, sounds of water, bullfrogs, machines and sitars just to give you an idea, all woven together in a quite natural way.
There are only 50 numbered copies of this debut album, so if you're interested get your skates on!
