1 review | 2 people love this record: be the 3rd! This is well nice. It’s a reissue of Vibracathedral Orchestra’s self-released, self-titled double LP from ‘04 and it comes in a multicoloured screenprinted sleeve with pink plastic inners and a DVD (which I haven\'t yet watched and so cannot tell you about) in there too. This is well nice. It’s a reissue of Vibracathedral Orchestra’s self-released, self-titled double LP from ‘04 and it comes in a multicoloured screenprinted sleeve with pink plastic inners and a DVD (which I haven't yet watched and so cannot tell you about) in there too. Fancy!

In case you didn’t know already, Leeds experimental quintet Vibracathedral feature the likes of Mick Flower and Neil Campbell and have been going for years and years and have had a massive impact on the whole drone’n’chunter movement, since they were pretty much the first people this side of the pond to do this kind of thing (answers on a postcard if you don’t agree) with bands like Sunburned Hand of the Man owing a great deal to their free chunter vagaries (and their NY precursors NNCK of course). For my money this 2LP is probably their definitive statement, full of swirling drones and monotonous grooves like a droney bonged-out Can, only slowed right down. It’s a churning void of dense, deep, organic textures that should be in your record collection already.
