Here's a nice looking thing all machine stitched, designed by Quiet Design in Switzerland. The last thing I reviewed by Steinbruchel was stitched as well. Coincidence or connection? I'll start to think I'm psychic soon. Here he teams up with Cory Allen where the two artists swapped audio files over a 14 month period to create some serious sound art. Processed sounds aplenty, drones and hums, crackles and fizzes are the order of the day as the compositions weave in and out of each other. There's some really interesting sounding frequencies and occasional dabs of melody appear making the whole thing very listenable. Fans of 12K and processed intricate sounds should take note of this one. I've always been interested in these sorts of albums where the artists don't meet but swap audio files until they've got something they're both happy with. God bless the internet eh as I can't imagine anyone wanting to do it by post, though I'm sure it's been done!
