9/10 Brian Staff review, 11 May 2012

I dunno, it's not the most subtle of names I know but there's only a hardcore band from Florida who could contend the name, presumably a tribute to the surrealist headfuck that is the Jodorowsky film (almost if not as great as El Topo and just as baffling). The alternately sludgy, bluesy and galloping stoner rock that this former duo - now a fleshed-out three piece from Glasgow - create is earthy, dense, powerful and riffmongously fun.

Over the course of six muscular tracks you get a brilliantly realised mesh of heavy flailing drums; ravaging, caustic RAAAWWK guitars that both grumble and zing accordingly and stoic thrumming bass with sparingly delivered gravelly monolithic vocals that come across like a cross between Lemmy and Al Cisneros. I'll happily state here that this band, like many of their soul-mates in the Glasgow underground, are whip tight, authentic, accomplished and seriously heavy. Yet their more playful side comes across when they'll suddenly let loose with a wild blistering head-thrashing interlude that matches, in intensity, many of their finest contemporaries and peers. Shit-hot stuff, get down with the heaviest band that Chemikal Underground have ever unleashed...
