Wow! This looks great! All exquisitely printed foldy card sleeves replete with eight double-sided two colour prints that are all stunning. Like good enough to frame. Pretty packaging aside, this album has a heart-breakingly frustrating story behind its genesis. Jonathan Lee, the man behind Anduin, had the majority of his files and gear stolen in a home burglary, with two years' work nearly wiped out in an instant by some sneaky fucker. This album here contains what remnants remain of that period. To be honest this doesn't sound like a hastily-thrown together collection of salvaged scraps in the slightest. In fact what we've got is a collection of accomplished, rich, droney ambience with plenty of texture and detail and occasional smooth jazzy sax for a smoky mystical atmosphere. The bulk is slow-burning cosmic swirls of mind-cleaning gliding tones though. There's echoes of bvdub and Deathprod but with more of a physicality to the details, and it's mastered by Lawrence English so you know it's going to sound lovely. Swirling, bassy tones that langorously curl around your mindpiece like a doped up facehugger. Give in to it.
