8/10 Clinton Staff review, 12 April 2012

Did you pick up the album? If yes you'll know that this is an essential purchase, if no then this could serve as a nice little taster. One half of this project is the guy from Machinedrum who seems remarkably prolific at the moment and is at last getting some long overdue attention. The first tune here is a stormer, some stretched out mesmerizing summery bliss in the manner of label mates Mount Kimbie with some lovely drum & bass style beats and atmospheres.  The second track is a Trevino remix which starts out a little on the cheesy side before cracking in with a lovely descending bass line, muted trumpet  and cut up voices. On the flip the opening track is a little bit balearic house with some skittery beats and muted synths. There's also a Kevin Mcphee remix with some dark stomping repetitive 4/4 beats.  Overall a nice companion/taster to go with the excellent album.
