Their second full-length after a trio of unique EPs that tried to extend math rock out to different palates and distances, Beware and Be Grateful is Maps & Atlases using the urgency of their favourite genre for emotive, self-contained pop songs with harmonious structures and personal song-writing. Supposedly inspired by artists like Six Organs of Admittance and Prince, the record shows the band at their catchiest, with "Remote and Dark Years" intended as a dance track (if dancing is always slow, always sad and always about the end times).
