Wowza! Noticed Wild Nothing sell a lot of records but I don't really listening to them. I may have reviewed a single somewhere down the line but it doesn't ring a bell. Well, here they are with 'Nowhere', an ambitious little pop single that sits somewhere between the best of The Smiths and R.E.M. This is Wild Nothing's mainman Jack Tatum first trip to a proper studio and with Twin Sister's Andrea Estella helping out on vocals he's really tapped into the blissed out pop of the Sarah era. Perfect for Captured Tracks I'm sure. Flip it and 'Wait' maintains the quality whilst drifting into dream-pop territory. The woozy guitar line is one of the strangest takes on the shoegaze guitar tone I've ever heard and gets a thumbs up from me. Great little single. Another gold star for Captured Tracks please.
