No Ceremony are a big old mystery. From the looks of the press release this Manchester based artist/s (?) is/are driving the blogosphere mad crazy! Everyone wants to know who s/he is and how they got so good so quick. I'm not fussed who he/they are. There ain't much mystery in music nowadays and I'm sure they'll be unveiled by the meddling internet at some point anyway. For now lets just enjoy the mystery. What I can tell you is No Ceremony craft perfectly modernist sample based electronic music. Influenced heavily by the soulful side of Dubstep but with a dance music to suit all aesthetic, these tracks are screaming to be heard. 'Hurtlove' keeps the House dram alive with striking piano chords, warm synths and soft vocals lulling you into a sense of complete and utter well-being. Very dreamy stuff. Flip it and 'Weareme' trades in more classically recorded grand piano chords, this time augmented with oddly effected vocal harmonies and a driving, yet muddy, filtered beat. Again, the approach is warm and soulful and would be equally at home on the club soundsystem as it would soundtracking adverts for nature documentaries. This one's self-released so you might wanna grab it quick while it's still about.
