It's weird you know. I put this on and someone said it sounded like Jack White and that's cos it does. That's amazing that... This is the first fruit from his forthcoming debut album coming out late April on XL/Third Man. The song is a bluesy thing and he's duetting with some woman or other (I'd appear less ignorant if I actually could find out who she was). It's stripped back sounding with just vocals and guitar and some occasional keyboard and in all honesty it's not a bad song. Unarguably he can pen a decent tune, he clearly has a great knowledge of old American blues, country and folk and it shows in this. I'm onto my third listen now and it's slowly starting to sink in. It's a weird choice for what's essentially a debut single it being not massively commercial and it being all acoustic. One thing I will say though is that he's looking more and more like Michael Jackson (god bless his soul) in every picture I see of him. Ooh I smell a new conspiracy theory starting!
