Bathetic hit us with a split tape from Rachel Evans's Motion Sickness Of Time Travel project and Jeff Stonehouse's Listening Mirror. You should be familiar with both of these artist by now. If not, read this and get the basics. MSOTT's 'Variations On Sleep' sees Evans on fine form dropping reverb heavy vocals on an ocean of ambient synth goodness. It's a harmonious and beautiful side that most definitely reflects the vibe of it's telling title. Stonehouse's ultra pretentious title of 'Casting Our Nets To The Stars' must have been selected in jest, surely? Well, either way it again reflects well on the music contained here. This is pure astral business. No messing. Lonesome synth melodies are set adrift upon the expanses of the space time continuum and left to evolve and mutate as they please. This tape is perfect for getting well baked. No doubt.
