Tomutonttu a.k.a Finnish underground electronics genius Jan Anderzen graces us with another side of tremolo heavy, skitterish melodics courtesy of the Beniffer Editions label. I'm assuming the title 'Tomuuntuu' is a cheeky dig at people fucking up the spelling and pronunciation of his moniker which I've no doubt been guilty of at some point in the past. 'Tomuuntuu' is presented on one side of white vinyl, the other side plastered with psychedelic art similar to that on Tomutonttu's split with Astral Social Club from earlier this year. Musically Anderzen is on his usual form. He kicks things off with one of his livest tracks, a take on Sonic Boom's electronics vs. mad speedy tremolo guitar before verging off on even crazier tangents engulfing the listener's ears in buzzsaw electronics, synth feedback, loopy micro samples and ultra manipulated field recordings. Originally commissioned by the Aanen Lumo Festival for New Sounds these tracks were originally performed live at the Orion Theatre in Helsinki at the end of last year. Took a while to see a release on vinyl but it was totally worth the wait. Fantastic as usual.
