When you get a record in that looks as outlandish as 'Fourth World Magazine Presents The Spectacle Of Light Abductions' then you can be almost certain that Spencer Clark has something to with it. This is Clark's debut on his own Pacific City Sound Visions label after a slew of releases as Skaters / Monopoly Star Child / Black Joker among others. Now, I'm not gonna pretend that I know what Spencer is up to here so ponder this press release quote for an insight into his frame of mind..."I have made an Alien Space Fusion Music that is an Aural Symbol for the pre-birth outer space-self's new Arrival." As with all Spencer Clark's releases '...The Spectacle Of Light Abductions' is a worthwhile listen. On this occasion he's stepped the New Age movement in order to produce a more personalised music that, to me, touches on the likes of Lucky Dragons, Tomutonttu and S.C's own Vodka Soap project. Mix that with the otherworldly improvisational style of Astray Navigations and Astral Social Club and you'll be somewhere near an approximation of whats going on here. Totally killer listen. Oh, and it's housed in a beautiful 12” booklet with accompanying alien banter and manipulated football stadium photo's. Good madness.
