The Garbage and the Flowers have apparently been going since the early '90s and to date have only bothered putting out a couple of 7”s and a double LP because they're so busy getting high, or so I've been led to believe. On this record here they're getting high again, and playing some sloppier-than-sloppy garage pop that constantly sounds like it's about to fall apart. They've clearly gone to great lengths to offer you the lowest fidelity available. The playing is feather light and speculative, the guitars may not have been tuned recently, the boy and girl singers seem only half-sure that they're singing the correct notes, no effort is made to conceal mistakes. I'm not saying any of these things are good or bad, but that's what this record is, and it's clearly that way on purpose. Maybe that's what you want to listen to, in which case I bet you're pleased that these guys managed to blink their way out of their monged-out stupor to press record and capture these “deceptively” shit-sounding songs.
