8/10 Li'l Biz Staff review, 23 November 2011

Nova Scotain Arms is a collaborative effort from Grant and Rachel Evans, a couple obsessed with the powers of the synthersizer. They occasionally perform together under the guise of Quiet Evenings and have put out a bunch of rad tapes on their Hooker Vision label. In celebration of their 15th anniversary (that being a crystal anniversary) they've taken a side each to pursue their solo endeavours whilst consciously trying to create a coherent split LP.  Impossible to say which of the two are responsible for each side of music (it's not credited) but side A is dominated by heavenly synth workouts of the fizzing, buzzing kind whilst the B-side is filled with...well, more heavenly synth drones, though of a ever so slightly more minimalist (and potentially more experimental) nature. They certainly compliment each other well and if I wasn't already aware of the collaboration I'd assume the music was made by the same artist. So yeah, a perfect marriage I reckon. Like Dr. Dre, these two most definitely smoke weed every day.
