- Sacred & Profane Love by Maria Minerva

Wasn't mega fussed about her album earlier in the year but this EP is completely hitting the mark today. Taking a blissed house/dreampop route on 'A Love So Strong', the overall effect is like latter day Saint Etienne schmoozing with Nite Jewel in a Balearic haze. The astonishing 'Kyrie Eleison' comes slamming into your world like a slab of whooshing cosmic techno with huge crashing waves of astral wind, murky pitched-down male vocal mutters and ethereal trails from Maria herself. 'Gloria' is one of the stand-out tracks from the recent Silkmix, once again Nite Jewel's influence is undeniable throughout this slice of hyper catchy garage flecked spacepop. 'Another Time and Place' opens side two and is more akin to tribal downtempo house as imagined by LA Vampires, evoking a kaleidoscopic amble through a tropical pop jungle, all sensual euphoria and imaginative rhythms. There's another two tracks but I'm not going to tell you about them (they're excellent by the way) as with the first four being so sublime, why do you need to have more encouragement to buy this damn thing??
