Youngfuck, eh? Controversial name that. Doesn't really have the same effect if you're a shoegaze group from Gothenburg though does it. Yep, these Swedish kids ain't no jazz-punk nutters on Skin Graft or the latest signing to 3oneG but a Slowdive inspired dream-pop band with whimsical drifting melodies and sweet female vocals. 'Black Tulips' is the ultimate in angelic pop. It wouldn't even consider the idea of saying 'boo' to a goose. We're talking top heavy drum grooves, lightly picked and reverb treated guitar work and that simplistic bass line that is consistently called upon to keep these breezy numbers grounded. Flip it and you get '204,7', a cluttered effort with a little too much going on melodically for it to shine in the same way as its accompanying A-side. Still, a lovely little number with some cool baggy style drum programming.
