We're just discussing how to make a record like this. For a start get the old 4/4 beat going that will be a start, get some cliched soul samples on the boil. Don't even think about injecting anything bass heavy. In fact why bother with basslines at all! We're just discussing how to make a record like this. For a start get the old 4/4 beat going that will be a start, get some cliched soul samples on the boil. Don't even think about injecting anything bass heavy. In fact why bother with basslines at all! What we have here is a very swift take on your post dubstep squelsh, very light on its feet and so fast you'd think it was at the wrong speed but for once I have pressed the right button.  Its a double 12”, opener 'Talk Smak' features cut up female vocals, creating a melody of sorts, surrounded by slightly discordant synths.  Its technically ok and is blatantly in love with early skittery house music but I'm struggling to find a hint of soul, melody or any real inventiveness amongst all the intricate programming.
