Danish prog wobblers Papir get a reissue of their 2011 album ‘Stundum’ for the El Paraiso label, this being a double LP and single CD clocking in at a gargantuan 80 minutes of pure prog heaven. They often veer from noodling jazz guitar up to full on psychedelic rock jams that cover Santana style samba through to Weather Report jazz fusion, aside from all the virtuoso nonsense though is a sturdy rock band that pulls no punches when it comes to bringing the noise. On a comical note this does remind me of the Mighty Boosh episode ‘The Priest And The Beast’ which features the mystical Rudy Van Disarzio and Spider Dijon, AKA the Bongo Brothers, this has the exact same psychedelic feel to it, like they’re on some kind of magical journey through the desert with this as their soundtrack.

Joking aside though Papir make damn good music, tight and precise even though it does sound like they only just jammed it out half an hour ago, maybe they did? Clever bastards!

8/10 Kris Customer review, 23rd October 2014

I put this on whenever, really. Seriously. I get the LP-player down now and again when friends are over for a music/chill sesh, and everyone asks what it is. We sit back and just listen and are blown away by certain sections of the songs, which go into rock-outs rivalling the stoner/metal/hardcore tracks that are frequently played.

Other times this record works: driving home, to work, the surf, your mom's house, etc. Cleaning, cooking, dancing, -ing (just add prefix). In the backround of your daily life. You get the point, buy it!
