Just in time for Halloween arrives Lee Noble's Horrorism LP on the Bathetic label. I played this at 45rpm this morning and didn't realise til the end cos I'm a fucking idiot so now I'm righting my wrongs by playing it at the correct speed. Knob. Anyhoo Lee has had a bunch of tapes out on various labels and here's his debut vinyl album to get dreadfully excited about. Drifting decayed melodies suck you in and by the time the hushed echoey vocals kick in you're hooked. Strange ethereal noises swathed in echoey loveliness play whilst ghostly rhythms please your ears most satisfactorily! There's a bit of cosmic synth action 'n all which I'm thoroughly enjoying.... If you want a comparison, it's not a million miles away from the likes of Grouper and it sounds like something 4AD would have released back in the early 80's. Really strong album!!
