Yes, there was a volume one of this released last Halloween and as there were only 50 they didn't last long aaaaaaaand yes, volume one was by The Toy Library (Rob from Epic 45) and not El Heath. Confused yet? You will be... Also released in an edition of 50 Mr Heath (we'll call him Ted from now on) has constructed 7 tracks of varying styles from strange warm sounding drone pieces to strange looping electronic noises to folk. The list of instruments (and other things!) that were used to make the recordings is extensive... tapes, computers, reel-to-reel, field recordings, accordion, violin, flute, mellotron, voice, guitars, broken 78 vinyl... ah I'm getting bored of typing a list out. You can see it's gonna be pretty varied and it is. The looping beats are a welcome addition, giving the sound a much more vibrant lively feel than his previous more drone based releases. Cue mid-way through the album you get a folky Syd Barrett-esque number. I wasn't expecting that. The album is all over the shop yet coherent and really rather good and that's why i like it, ah ha ah ha I like it ah ha ah ha.
