9/10 Mike Staff review, 28 September 2011

This record's got a pretty ace-looking cover, I believe it's been designed and riso-printed by the band themselves. I reviewed a split these guys did with Ale Mania a few weeks ago and enjoyed that so I thought I'd give this one a go. As I'd hoped it sounds great. In contrast to the summery fuzzpop type stuff on their side of that split, this is more of a straight garage punk type affair with a tight and pummeling rhythm section and taut and trebly guitar played ferociously. 'Bone Lawn' on the A side is dirty pop punk with a rock 'n' roll swagger. It sounds pretty fresh and authentic and is delivered enthusiastically. On the flip we've got two songs which are each just over a minute long and whiz by in a flash of lurid garage-y clatter. This 7" mixes the rawness of DIY punk with the controlled chaos of the likes of Puffy Areolas or The Dwarves. Very much hoping to hear a long player from this band soon.
