Christopher Biggins meets Ralph Hutter. Those were my initial impressions when I came across Stefan Betke one night in Edinburgh. A big loveable bear of a man. I've always been a fan of his expert experiments in hazed out glitchy dub and watching him play was like watching someone mend a clock. All intricate movement with bits sprawled out everywhere. Here is his first release on his new label, the magnificently named Pole.  If you've heard his music before you won't get any horrible suprises but what you will get is some expertly fashioned crackly dub oozing a lovely warm feel that makes me feel all excited inside. The B side is an even sprightlier composition that nods towards the dancefloor with an almost reggae vibe. Its great to have the old chap back and this is a superb release.
