A Silent Planet by Teen Daze

4/10 Dave 12 October 2011

Dreamy, psych/synth wave from Teen Daze, who wrote these tunes mostly at his parents' big house at the foot of some mountain. He came up with the ideas for these celestial cuts while studying philosophy in Switzerland, between poncing about in a chalet in the Alps, sipping black tea, and in all probability wearing some kind of neckerchief and touching foxy euro girls up (...”I'm studying philosophy you know....and I make sub-Washed Out style music...fancy a fuck?!?...”) That's exactly how it happened. He's peddling a sort of chill wave style sound that is “haunting” and somewhat know, like chill wave. I'm just not enamoured by his synth musings. His press release reeks of a bourgeois ponce dicking about in Europe, then relocating to his MASSIVE parents' house and making music that challenges your intellect and what it is to be human. It's music that WIRE readers will cream themselves over, while blue collar rockers (like me) will probably utter the words “get a job” or summat to that effect. Poncery of the highest order that makes me want to eat the rich...
