I guess Phil's decided that I'm the twee/indiepop guy this week. Here's some lo-fi singer-songwriter gubbins from a guy who calls 'imself The Doozer. It's quite varied actually, the first track was a dirgey Syd Barrett-esque one, then there was a quirky twee one, then a slow one with cheap droney synths...it's got a lot going on, and none of it's offending me. Further inspection reveals that Siltbreeze and Pickled egg have previously put out stuff by him, so he's got pedigree. I'm finding this quite relaxing and enjoyable, although ultimately I don't know if it's got enough personality to really be all that memorable. That could easily change with repeated listens though. In places it kind of has a similar feel to the songs Adam and Joe made for their TV show, only not funny. On the other side we've got a long long track called Imagined Landscapes which is general field recordings and ambient gubbins to zone out to. Wasn't expecting much from this side but it's actually surprisingly good. A really interesting release.
