Dead excited about Buffalo Tom returning to the scene but I'm yet to hear any of their new material. I'm a lazy lad. Saying that, this sounds like an oldy. The opening chords sound so familiar... Dead excited about Buffalo Tom returning to the scene but I'm yet to hear any of their new material. I'm a lazy lad. Saying that, this sounds like an oldy. The opening chords sound so familiar... Anyway, bit of background for you. This 7" was recorded at Boston's 25-year-old Q Division Studios, a old analogue only set-up where the studio invite artists to come and lay down tracks which they then release in-house as part of their 'Rock And Soul 7 series'. It's a kind of celebration of the studio led labels of the '50s and '60s but, you know, now. This is also reflected in the aesthetic of the 7" sleeve. 'Down' and 'She's Not Your Thing' sound like classic slices of emotive Boston based rock you'd associate with Buffalo Tom though the B-side definitely highlights the bands hitherto unacknowledged country rock influence. Comes on sweet blue vinyl and includes a download.
