The only stuff I've heard by this artist is his 'Phantom In Paradise' CD which I happen to think is really very good. I've not heard the Laton album though which this is taken from. The only stuff I've heard by this artist is his 'Phantom In Paradise' CD which I happen to think is really very good. I've not heard the Laton album though which this is taken from. It's a big chunky slice of gloomy slow stomping black techno that's like Vitalic overdosing on downers and or some seriously screwed comatose Newbeat. Vienna is truly in the house on this 12" as Patrick Pulsinger turns up to remix a track, funnily enough entitled 'New Beat' and he brings a brilliantly funky techno sound to proceedings. Always great to hear this chap in techno mode. Whoa! Elin is back! Another Vienna/Cheap Records artist I used to dig in the mid 90's. His mix of 'Hey Gert' is an infectious slow stomper with chiming bells and heart throbbing pulsating beat. Finally 'Altroy' steps up with a no nonsense uptempo 4/4 techno banger that'll get 'em gurning like a bulldog chewing a wasp.
