P.G. Six - The Patrick Gubler Six are an indie-folk-Americana type band, well probably more of revolving cast of characters with New Yorker, Gubler being the the mainstay. "Starry Mind" is their fifth album and came out in 2001, four years after its predecessor, "Slightly Sorry" which I rather enjoyed. For quick comparisons sake, they have Will Oldham-style melodies and Neil Young-style guitars with English folk influences. It's understated and beautiful in places. Parallels can be drawn with Ned Oldham's band The Anomoanon. Hey, there's even a song called "Palace" on here! Anyway, it's decent stuff. The best tracks are the opener, "January", the aforementioned "Palace" and "Letter".
