This Many Boyfriends are an indie pop band from the riot free city of Leeds. These kids ain't got nothing to complain about so it's no surprise that they deliver an ultra positive slice of youthful musical fun. 'Young Lovers Go Pop!' is the group's call to arms or anthem as it were. These fun loving boys and girls have gone hell for leather on the recording of it too. It's very lively, energetic and ambitious. You can almost envisage the group's dreams of a future filled with golden hairclips, perfect fringes and NME award night mischief. Good luck to 'em I say. With this brash combination of heartfelt Pains Of Being Pure At Heart-esque melodies and lairy Cribs-esque abandon they're bound to fall squarely on their brand new brogues. B-side 'You Don't Need To Worry' is a 33rpm rocker of the steadier, demo-y kind. Richard Brooke's vocal is pure Morrissey on this one, which again bodes well for the future. Final track 'Paul Simon' might be about Paul Simon, I'm not sure. Again, this one is a mid-tempo slice of classic tea and cake indie pop that does exactly what it says on the tin. Good stuff. Indietracks 2012 here we come!!!
