Influential British indie-pop pioneers return with a new 7" on Fortuna POP! These tracks are taken from the recently released "Howl Of The Lonely Crowd" produced by Edwyn Collins and featuring the talents of Ryan Jarman of The Cribs. He plays violin on 'An Arcade From The Warm Rain That Falls', a romanticized brash pop song that begins with an amazingly cheeky bit of 60's psych guitar. It's a bold, impressive number. Flip it and you're treated to a cover of Carla Thomas 'I Take It To My Baby'. Not sure who's singing but the lady does a fine job of the song and the minimalist arrangement totally works in a pseudo Joy Division sort of way. This is followed by 'Your Just Lonely' featuring the talents of Brian O'Shaughnessy and Alasdair Maclean of the The Clientele. It's the lightest of the three tracks here but again, features fantastic guitar skills and almost reminds me of Buffalo Tom.
