- Happy Hour by Richard A. Ingram
8/10 Ant Staff review, 01 September 2011
This is Richard's second full length for White Box following 2010's Consolamentum album and more recently a disc for Rural Colours. He's a talented artist capable of creating vast sonic landscapes to get lost in, afterwards leaving you wondering where the hell you've been for the last hour. In a cave? On an Arctic expedition? Inside someone else's body? Revisiting a past life? Who knows but 'Agile' sounds are super potent, punctured by howling synthetic winds and occasional bleeps and glitches that recall some later Coil material. 'Truncheon Tree' has fractured, somber piano mingling with creepy static and rattling sounds. 'Chaos Fortifier' emanates a feeling of being lost and in desolation with rumbling slabs of tectonic sound and isolationist, cold atmospheres. 'Retromorph' is a journey deep into the shadows with morphing bass drops and its own unique artificial micro climate. Cracking stuff from this Manchester artist.
