Two EP's kick off this promising new 12" series on Honest Jon's which looks like it is aimed straight at the dancefloor with two 12"s of Shangaan Electro kicking things off in style. This music is created with one sol purpose and that is to move feet and asses. The tempo's are high paced with simple but very effective electronic percussion. As can be heard on this fine pair of 12"s by Tshetsa Boys and  Tiyiselani Vomaseve which is the work of producer Dog.  Those of you that picked up the excellent double LP showcasing the sound will not be disappointed here, with ecstatic African vocal chants and playful electric marimba. It's a rush of pure energy that is very uplifting once you get your head around the tempos. I'll be honest when I first heard this stuff I wasn't convinced and thought it was a wee bit silly but one it the groove its tremendous fun The formula is pretty consistent throughout and with Mark Ainley and Mark Ernestus making the track selections you know you're in good hands. I actually enjoy this on both 45RPM for a big rush or on 33RPM for a more cerebral early house vibe.
